Not Me Monday

I stumbled upon this blog a few weeks ago (see the Not Me Monday link on the left side) that was so uplifting and fun to read. She has started a fun little thing called "Not Me Monday." It is actually very therapeutical and just plain fun!! So please join in on the fun!

1. I did not eat an entire bag on Milan cookies in one day

2. I absolutely did not let Alex go to school this morning without taking a shower and smelling a tid bit like a combination of outdoors and sweat.

3. I do not read this one in particular blog religiously (not naming names/blogs) and then go home and talk about them to my friends and hubby like I ACTUALLY no them when in fact they don't even no I exist.

4. I did not leave my dirty clothes on the floor and walk around them for at least two days like they were not even there. I did not step on them either...

5. I did not cuss at the man driving in front of me who was driving too slow...oh did I mention Alex was NOT in the car with me to hear the obscenities??

6. I did not take an extra ten minutes at lunch today even though I knew it was time to go back to work.

7. I do not wait to the last minute to get things done even if I have had months to prepare..no not me

8. I did not tell Alex he could skip brushing his teeth just one night because I was exhausted

9. I did not spend fifty dollars at Walgreen's on cleaning supplies and then go home and tell my husband I only spent twenty.

10. I did not blog at work!!

Have a great Monday!!

Feeling Much Better!!

I am feeling so much better compared to last week. I have to admit it got pretty scary. Thanks to those who commented! I don't get a whole lot of comments so therefore it's always kind of exciting when I do....yes that may be slightly on the dorky side but oh well. This whole blogging thing is so much fun and has honestly become quite addicting. I can't wait for five to get here...yes I am blogging at work and a big OH WELL to that. Please don't forget to pray for the Smith Family. For those of you who don't know their precious son Gavin was diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer six months ago.
I guess I should get back to work! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Needing advice from our readers!

Okay I really don't no if I have ANY readers out there. Of course I would like to think I do, but i'm not really sure. Anyway, I am needing some advice. I had a blister form on my foot about three weeks ago. I get blisters ALL of the time so this was nothing new. So last Sunday I started running a fever and had developed a rash. By Monday my fever had disappeared but my rash was still there and had gotten much worse. So I went to the doctor and he said it looked like Poison Oak, gave me some steroids and sent me home. Did I show him my blister?? NOPE! I honestly thought it was no big deal. HUGE MISTAKE!!!! So by Tuesday night I am running a fever again and my whole body hurts. By Wednesday my fever tops 104 and I can barely walk without assistance. It was pretty scary!! Turns out that pesky blister got infected which spread up my leg. My doctor prescribed me some very strong antibiotics and rest of course. I am much better today, but this is where the advice comes in. It is Friday and we are getting ready to hit the weekend (I despise ER visits especially on weekends oh and did I mention I currently DO NOT have medical insurance?!) and my leg is in a lot of pain. I feel so much better but my leg hurts and the redness is now turning to purple. It almost looks like bruises going up my leg. Has anyone ever had this happen???? Should I be worried? Do you know of any home remedies? Will it just go away over time? I would really appreciate any advice out there. Thanks! Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

You can be a fruit

So last night Mr. S and I were trying to get Alex to go to bed. For some reason it was a HUGE challenge. He was just hyped up from the get go and would not settle down. On nights like these he always wants me to lay down with him until he falls asleep. Not that I don't love to cuddle with him but 1) We are really trying to work on the sleeping by yourself EVERY night thing and 2) last night I had a lot of housework to get caught up on. We were trying to explain all of this to him but it just wasn't working. He has an argument for every word we say. I can see the little wheels just turning in his head as we laid there. I read him a story and was getting ready to get up and give the final kiss goodnight and tuck him in bed when he starts pleading for me to stay. This is how the conversation went....
Mr. S: "We were leaving and you are going to bed like a "big" boy."
Alex: "You can go but momma stays."
Mr. S: "No, if I go momma goes because we are a pair and work together as a team." (we are really working on this team thing cause he likes to work us.)
Alex: WITHOUT hesitation "Ok you can be a fruit....but momma stays."
Now how do you not laugh at that? We are trying to be so serious and stick to our guns and he makes a joke! Little turkey! It was actually a proud mom moment for me because I think that is the first "real" joke he's ever made and it did really make us laugh. It's moments like these that you never have the video camera out for. Oh well maybe there will be many more jokes to come!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
